A&W All American Food at 8540 West Farm to Market Road 78, Converse, Texas.

A&W Is co-located in the same building with Long John Silver's (on West FM Rd 78) using a single customer counter to order from one or the other menu. Probably saves restaurant labor costs but overall think it is a detriment. My wife ordered Fish & More and I ordered a Papa Burger Combo. Both were under $15.00. Although there were only a few customers in the restaurant, we waited 22 minutes for our number to be called and then retrieved our order from the kitchen counter. My food, burger & fries, were more ordinary. Nothing really to crow about. Their Root Beer whether bought for home consumption or drunk in the A&W Restaurant is always special. The restaurant decor is beautifully done with decorations leaning more toward A&W than LJS themes. Nicely furnished & equipped for couples, foursomes, & larger numbers. Cozy and comfortable. The place, including restrooms, were clean except the side area of the beverage station (unsightly). The counter person was friendly but had his hands full (not with many customers) but wiping down & cleaning tables. This was my first time here. Restaurant seemed to be short staffed. There are many good things these two chains have going for them. Weighed heavily my decision whether to give them a 3 or 4 star rating & since there is not a 3 1/2, I gave them a four.
